Thailand is fast becoming the biggest scooter country of the world. Bangkok has to be the scooter capital of Asia – yep, even more so than cities like Hong Kong or Beijing. They're everywhere. Ancient Vespa's and Lambrettas to ultra modern Honda PCX scooters supported by a massive aftermarket of windscreens, loud-exhaust pipes, wheels, suspension enhancements, colorful seats, sporty bodywork, and engine performance parts. Everywhere you look you see scooters equipped with engines from 100 to 150cc, with the possibility to see a few bigger maxi-scooter going by.
You can see scooters from Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki in Thailand without the need to look for them. Scooter are convenient for commuting between work and office and all simple trips, all ending their journey by riding onto the pavement, parking up and walking off – and nobody really cares.
In Thailand scooter manufacturers sell shiploads of Yamaha Fino's, Honda Air Blade-i, Honda Click-i, Honda Scoopy-i, Suzuki Hayate, Suzuki Skydrive 125, Suzuki Jelato 125 and surely I forget a few.
